The PokerStars Russian Poker Tour Moscow wrapped up with an exciting final table on May 17 comprised of 100% Russian natives and that included two Team PokerStars Pro players (Alex Kravchenko and Ivan Demidov). The winner of RPT Moscow, Vitaly Lunkin was actually last in chip count at the start of the final table, climbing out of his 120,500-chip disadvantage to surpass all 8 other players ahead of him to take first place.
Ivan Demidov was in the final table at last year’s World Series of Poker Main Event. In this year’s RPT Moscow, he came in 6th place. Alex Kravchenko came in fourth place in the WSOP Main Event the year prior to that. In yesterday’s event, he came in 8th.
Lunkin’s claim to fame, however, is not as a professional poker player but as a former backgammon champ. His prize of 14,323,000 rubles equates to about $455,000 American.
